Shrek the Famous Hermit Sheep was discovered at Bendigo Station. The teachers and children wrote his story of discovery and have successfully published two about him.

Book 2

The story, about Shrek’s life since his introduction to New Zealand and indeed the rest of the world. His story has been told as a result of letters the pupils wrote to Shrek enquiring about his life since his discovery.

The Shrek books were produced as a fundraiser by Friends of Tarras School. Book 1 has sold more than 35,000 copies and is still currently amongst New Zealand’s top selling children’s book.
